Thanks guys for your feedback. Kevin PM'd me and is sending me a gauntlet pattern.

cacunn-I was planning to use the cut off material to fashion the cuffs-but as I was showing the Bride (my tailor) what I wanted, she noticed several moth holes in one of the sleeves. She suggested salvaging the rest of the jacket to make a 5 button vest. We went shopping at a local thrift shop and came home with a nice wool black/gray harringbone 2-button jacket that we're going to convert.

I'm going to order a tux jacket and use Kevin's gauntlet pattern to make a nice Argyle.

Thrift shops and the backs of closets are wonderful places to look for jackets to convert! Wearing a jacket that you have converted or had converted is much more satisfying than buying one (in my opinion)

A question for those more in the know. A tux jacket normally has satin on the collar, is this appropriate for an argyle jacket? I understand that an argyle jacket is a suitable substitute for a Tux, however, is the satin collors of a Tux jacket suitable for an argyle jacket?
