I get 2" duty belts in black (nylon) with a side release buckle from a place on ebay for a reasonable price--they are velcro-adjustable and hold up well and look great with casual/camo kilts. Let me know if you'd like the source and I'll look it up.

I think go for the webbing rather than traditional - particularly as you are combining that fabric and a non traditional style.

I wear my kilts in DPM with an old British Army webbing belt with brass fittings, but really ought to get them a belt each. I have been looking for suitable Nylon webbing and 'click' style fastenings sturdy enough to look right and take the strain. I make my kilts 7 to 8 yards long and fasten them just with a belt so I don't want to lose them unexpectedly....
Yeah, I wanted something that would still use up a nice amount of fabric (about 6 yards) but was different from the typical knife pleat style. I had just been looking at the UK site when the idea hit me, so I decided to run with it. As a bit of a nod to Freedom Kilts, I'm going with 3.75" deep, 1.5" pleats. I haven't decided yet how wide I want to make the apron.

I'm going to go to the local craft store or fabric store tonight to see if I can find some webbing and nylon fasteners. Maybe 2" wide.

By all means, hook me up. Even if I find something tonight, I'll have the info for later.
