Taking the dog to the vet - a little too much chance for exposure when you're down on the floor restraining the dog. Especially when all of the vet techs are female.

I just kneel down, tuck or put the back part of the kilt, the pleated area, toward my legs and sit on the pleats, then either spread out the front or tuck it in around me with my legs to one side. Always seems to work.

I don't think I want to sit on the floor in a kilt until I know for sure what the "CORRECT" way to do that in a kilt is.
Do I have to turn in my Man Card now?

On my last long-distance hike shorts turned out to be more practical. I've worn the kilt for over 5,000 backpacking miles, and I will again.
I'd never go rock climbing kilted, not even bouldering. Too much fabric to get in the way, and you can't fit a harness over it.
Snowboarding kilted is asking for trouble. Especially when you're a beginner like me and spend more time with your legs over your head!
While I have swum and bicycled in a kilt, I wouldn't do it again if I had other options. I only did them in a kilt because that's all I had on hand.
Andrew.

One has to be careful if they fall asleep wearing a kilt - you could wake up and find a blue ribbon tied... well we won't mention where, because most of you have heard the song that explains it. ha ha

For me each of those activities has the proper gear to wear. My kilts have their purpose and their place in my waredrobe, but they don't have exclusivity over my waredrobe. I am a big believer in having th eproper gear for each situation.
I agree totally with Colin.

Folks..... I'd have to say sledding and taboganing. I tried it this past weekend and am still thawing certain parts of my body err, I mean my knees and parts of the thighs.

Disc Golf
I wouldn’t wear a kilt playing a round of disc golf. When you factor in all the thorns, poison ivy, and my inability to land a Frisbee on the fairway, any exposed skin below the waist is a bad idea.

It seems to me that those would be the BEST places to wear a kilt!
