Here in Cartersville, Georgia seeing a kilt is still very much a novelty. Seems most just aren't quite sure what to make of it, whether I wear a tartan or the casual style. Wearing the sporran does seem to help with both as that clearly identifys this as a kilt. I relish those times when folks are overwhelmingly positive and complimentary in coming up to ask questions. I have GOT to get some business cards for MENSPLACE! The "good old boys" still have the occasional chuckle, but the ones that admittedly get next to me are the more reserved and stand-offish ones with the look of anger and judgement. Either way, the is a certain vicarious pleasure in stirring up paradigms through simply wearing them as much as possible!
