I can't imagine what it would be like wearing a kilt to the post office in Cartersville, I get a few strange stares in the Publix here in Alpharetta from time to time. I do notice that more people speak to you when you are wearing your kilt in public.
It is 16 degrees F here this morning, the snow is mostly gone. The storm didn't live up to all of the media hype. I made a trip from Alpharetta to the Atlanta airport and back about noon yesterday. At that time it was snowing furiously, it turned out to be a very enjoyable trip. The roads were wet, it was like driving in the rain. It was a winter wonderland for three or four hours. My only regret is that our Burn's Supper scheduled for last night was canceled at the last minute.
The roads appear to be in good shape here this morning, I don't see any ice or snow on my lightly traveled street this morning. I think we may have broken a record here, two snowstorms in one week is a rare event.

I didn't think it ever snowed down there! If the temp gets over 100 around here we lay down and die until it gets better.
We've had a pretty good snowy winter here in NH so far starting in early Dec. and still here. I guess more is to follow soon. I live in an old house and I bank it up against the foundation like the old timers did. Cheap insulation!
I have taken to wearing my SWK Thrifty at work (yes I know, pics to follow)and it's pretty warm and comfy even around 0 F (I work outside a lot so I'm used to the cold). It seems that the other people who work for the town ie the Highway Dept. aren't creative enough to have their own supply of shocking and amazing occurrences in their daily existences so it remains to me to provide them with opportunity to snicker with horror behind someone's back, which I gladly do by wearing my kilt at work. (they're not too bright!) They already think I'm nuts for working at a wastewater treatment plant. My "official" title is Turd Herder.
Ah well, I'm glad I have a noble calling!
