I'm never really surprised to hear celebrities deaths. Think about it, they live their lives as entertainment for everybody. What a horrible way to live. No privacy, and they're always in the spotlight.
Don't get me wrong, I thought he was a great actor and he seemed to be a stand-up guy, but it just doesn't shock me.

This is the first I heard of Heath's untimely death , and I am truly shocked. I only ever saw him in 'Brokeback Mountain', but what a performance. Such a tragic waste of a young, talented, life.

I am also sorry on the loss of a great actor. He may be in the spotlight, but he is a human being, first and foremost. The loss of any human at an early age is a tragedy. May his family have the privacy to mourn him in the respectful manner he deserves.

I'm not trying to derail the topic here. But, it's not as if someone forces any person to be a "celebrity" and get paid all those millions upon millions of dollars. I can certainly say there are MUCH worse terrible ways to live.
Anyway, as to the topic, it is definitely unfortunate. But, no more unfortunate than the countless other untimely deaths that take place every day.

I was surprised as well. I was really looking forward to him playing the Joker in Batman. He was a very versatile and talented actor. Rest in peace.

Actually, the movie was shot last year and is already finished, I believe.
Truly a tragedy indeed. I always liked him as an actor and he seemed like a nice person. Someone said to me today, "How can these celebrities be so depressed? Look at all of the money they have!" I thought it a foolish question. Money only solves financial problems, it doesn't cure personal demons or other detrimental situations in life.
