Not really that much braver. The Latino population was... was not sure what to make of the "Anglo" in the skirt. After the word got around school that I was kilted and after talking to quite a few of the classes, and making myself more than visible out in the halls, gradual acceptance was accomplished. By Friday, the uniqueness sorta wore off and they started asking more and more questions about my heritage. It became a cool way to share. A couple of the Latino students told me that they had a mixed heritage and that some of their relatives were Scotch-Irish.
