99% of the time it is done in total ignorance of what the passage really means. (It actually refers to Transvestite 'Priests' of several ancient deities with whom the Israelites had disapproving contact). More applicable to finding you in a pink frilly ball gown & red pumps.

It was certainly not referring to (Male) Kilts, Sarongs, Lava-Lavas, Graeco-Roman tunics or Togas, or Israelite robes at all. What a moron!
I have in my life found that there are three kinds of religious people:

1- Those that use religion as medium of control

2- Those who need the control/social structure

3- Those who actually believe (and sadly, these are the ones that I see the least of.)

People like the ones who will quote scripture at you in a supermarket are the people who fit neatly into Category 1. No amount of reason or logic or actual fact will convince them that they are wrong. It takes away their medium of control, so the reality doesn't matter. And as Ted said- what fun is life if we can't laugh at each other and ourselves? I tell my co workers all the time that they are on this earth to amuse me, and I them.

You're a priest, correct, Ozman? Many blessings to you, friend.

I agree. And those in category one are there because they feel they have no control over their lives, themselves. They are far more concerned about the speck in someone else's eye that the log in their own.

I am number three, if you want to know I will tell you but I will never approach and preach. The funny thing is #1 and #2 seem to forget judge not lest ye be judged.

Yeah, that's about the easiest way I have found to tell the immediate difference. I compare them to rappers- rappers always tell you how their the best and freshest and the most original, but they all just sound alike! They have to tell you how perfect they are, because they just don't have anything to back it up with.

Anyways- I'm getting away from the potentially loaded conversation because I have a way of starting fires without realizing it! So grumble amongst yourselves- carry on!

I know what you mean, Nighthawk. A couple of wrong moves and people think you're normal or something. Wearing a gorilla costoom with a yellow cape while riding a skateboard around city hall... that works., but only once or twice.
I have yet to do that, but I did dress up as Pirate President Nixon once. That was entertaining...
