    sgian dubh

    Beautiful knives Robert!
...a stag handled sgian dubh and assorted smaller lock back blades.

Here is my sgian dubh made by a pipe maker from Cantabria.

The handle is made of almond tree wood. The colour difference is due to the sunshine.
The blade is carbon steel that turns black (dubh...) with time . It is mounted with horn and bone.

The tip of the handle is inlaid with brass and ebony.

Very nice Robert, love the horn & bone details
Unique...the style actually reminds me of the Finnish puukko knife.

    Yes, Terry ! exactly.
It's actually a bit chubby on the sides, but it's an old buddy.
