thats a fine coat there, River! I'll see if they have one in black or olive drab.
For WPG I believe we want to go to the new site onlinemilitaria.net
They have US Ike jackets in OD enlisted men's and "OD chocolate" officers' version... or in packages with trousers, etc. It's like a candy store.

    Sorry Nick,

Since What Price Glory does replicas for reenacting the closest you'll find is the Olive drab enlisted Ike jacket or the darker Olive Officer's Ike jacket. Again, they come plain, I added insignia to honor my father's service and my Uncle's service.

This is the enlisted Ike jacket. With weathered Gordon tartan kilt from Celtic Croft and #4 Freelander Sporran again. At Lees Ferry, AZ on the Colorado River.

This is the darker olive officer's Ike jacket with, fittingly on St. David's Day the Prince of Wales tartan USA Kilts casual. At Mormon Lake, AZ with the San Francisco Peaks in the background.

I don't know of any black, but the dark olive officer's Ike jacket would probably dye up well since its already so dark.

I avoided the overcoat for the reasons stated above. Unfortunately I don't have anything that falls between the length of the rain coat and my shorter winter coats or jackets. The cold was not the problem. I was trying to avoid getting the kilt wet when it was raining. My best jacket for the kilt is a shorter jacket with a removable lining. The lining is good enough even when in the 20's (F) as long as the wind is not too high and I am just walking from the car to a building.

It's ok, it still looks good. I'll see if they have one in my size(doubt it).

Ron, that is a fantastic look! I don't think I'd carry it off quite as well.

I notice that WPG also carrries the Ike jacket in brown. http://www.whatpriceglory.com/pic/patton.jpg

    Thanks Rob,

I missed that. Maybe something new...off to check it out. Had been looking at the Scottish War 1 jacket but don't think it'd look good unbuttoned, which is what I gotta do since I maxed out on belly over the largest size Jerry offers.

I found this wool Navy Bridge Coat at American-ArmyNavy. I think I will be ordering one tomorrow. And at least it buttons on the correct side unlike an RAF Greatcoat.

I think that's the "dark OD" officer's version like Ron's second one. Description here

If you like the sheepskin flight jacket, I just noticed a very affordable ($350 US) reproduction B3 bomber jacket in limited sizes 40-46. Elsewhere they are $500 and up! Note that this looks like an accurate reproduction, without some of the extra pockets on the modern jackets.

Here at US Wings is a sweet looking sale on a goatskin G-2 jacket. Lambskin, cowhide, and "Top Gun" versions also marked down. I have a G-1 in lambskin that is quite warm. Attn: Nick the DSM: check the black cotton flight jacket on their clearance page!

Sorry, there's no way the officer's Ike jacket I have is chocolate olive drab. Its dark olive drab. Unless Jerry changed the name. Was thinking about getting one but no point with summer coming. But if I had it'd be a rude surprise if it showed up and matched what I have.

A detailed book of photos of War 2 uniforms shows a lot of brown Ike jackets. Maybe since the first ones were actually British battle jackets worn my U.S. officers with U.S. insignia.

Thanks for mentioning it though...got me thinking, and more cautious.
