A belated welcome to you from England's south coast.
I too just love the tartan, just one of several Irish tartans I have mentally earmarked for future purchase, and it is good to see it made up as a kilt, rather than just as a swatch.
Take care,
Ham.

Not far from the Isle of Wight I see. I used to go there for my holidays when I was a young lad! Lovely part of the world you live in. I haven't been back there since I moved to Australia in 1974.
I have to make it back there sometime.

Hi, where are you in Melbourne? I have a friend in St Kilda who works at the St Vincent hospital.

Welcome from South Central Pennsylvania. To seal some else's tag line the best way to get over being self conscious about wearing a kilt is Just Do It.

I'm in the South Eastern 'burbs. Near Glen Waverley. A fair bit further out from the city than St. Kilda.

At first I thought it was a mistake, but on further inspection it is obviously meant to be there. So I was wondering; is this normal, why is it there?
It's normal - it's there to stop the bottom of the pleat from hanging too low and being seen sticking out - both my hand-sewn trads have this [goes and checks in closet...] and my machine-sewn causal has it...
oh, and a warm welcome to the forum from London.
best regards

Hi Donnie! Thanks for the welcome!
Hey Steve, I'm also a Steven, and I'm also from London (Bermondsey). But I've not been there for a few years now. And thanks for the explanation of that extra line of stitching.
Cheers from the Land Down Under....

I was just visiting a friend in Kilsyth just up the road from you in January, long rehab and he's going under the knife again today I think. Had the sidecar there, on the way to Tas for a couple of festivals down there.
