I've only had experience with the 11 ounce poly/wool from Fraser and Kirkbright, and i like it. It's light, but works well and holds a pleat without edge-stitching. Excellent for hiking kilts as it is light weight, warm, and dries quickly, and the tight weave resists snagging far better than polyester (acrylic) twills.
