Had to go back to this post, Ted.

Yep. If I grew a mustache, it could be the Magnum PI look...
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

Ya, what do I care what you look like. You think I care what you wear with your kilt, what tartan your beard is?
I DON'T!!
* It's been kind of fun to look over this old thread and to also see what some of the new members have added, though. Things seem to move a lot faster on the forum than out here in the real world.

I"ve sort of followed this thread, but haven't for the last few days....you see, I am clean shaven!! Have to be for the recreated 18th century British and Jacobite armies. Actually, it was very uncommon to have facial hair in the 18th century.....twas the fashion to be clean shaven and only on the outskirts of civilization did you sometimes find men with beards.....unshaven for several days, sure. The rule of thumb for military in those days was no more than 3 days growth. And, it has been written that Martha Washington was once asked what was the strangest thing she had ever seen..... "a bearded man"!! I will have some growth when I do Jacobite.....but I've never seen a portrait from that time that shows a man with facial hair (although I'm sure there are a few some place- OK, Grant's Champion, I think it is....he has a strange scimitar blade and a moustache). So, I am bound by my portrayal of an 18th century soldier (or gentleman!)..... I'm a bit envious of you who have a nice growth!! Malcolm

I think I just found a new way of losing weight, after dropping the ten pounds of my a$$ I just laughed off. Great flick.
Now the key question, does your beard tartan match your kilt?

Yes, yes it does. I also have a little sporran lip piercing to sit on the beard.
