I have a khaki AK, and I'm thinking about ordering the olive. I like it a lot, and received it very quickly

    Amerikilt

As do the rest, I like my AmeriKilt. The only problem I have with it is that it wrinkles if someone looks at it funny, and since I get all manner of funny looks in my travels about the community...

The all-cotton fabric is comfy. This is my primary kilt for "put on something to walk around the house" use.

As casual kilts go, my favorite is the Alpha Kilt. That one gets more use than any I have so far (including my two Utilikilts, my sport kilt in Armstrong modern, and my Amerikilt. I've been known to use the Amerikilt sporran with my AlphaKilt on occasion as well, although I realize that it lacks something in the sartorial excellence department (when I want to look a bit better, I use my Thorfinn sporran).

I've had four AmeriKilts. Outgrew them. When they fit the solids went really well with Pendleton vests and sweaters. Sort of a preppy look with more of a "real kilt" look than the UK Mockers.

And, as mentioned, Mike Butler's service is great. And I believe they have one of the best values in plain leather kilt belts.

I have three AKs. One each green, black and tan. The green one is the oldest and gets the most use. It works well with most of the shirts I own. The black is great for going to church or some mid level dress occasion. I have worn the tan with a polo shirt as my preppy look to attend classes or spend (waist) a day at some business conference or what not. I also play with the sporrans. I tend to use a regular day sporran with them to give a more traditional kilt look whilst ambling about town. Kilt has held up well through a lot of abuse, raking leaves, shoveling snow, digging in the garden, pruning the thorn bushes, washing the trucks. BTW I have never used the rear pocket, as I am not used to pockets on a kilt, I forget its there. For the self colour route, the Amerikilt is great. My Utilikilt Basic is good if I want to swing a lot of cargo on my sides, still tend to wear a sporran though.

And, if you have mutiple colored AmeriKilts you can switch the cloth "sporrans" for a different look...tan sporran with forest green kilt and vice versa. Black sporran with tan kilt or vice versa for a "black and tan" look.

    Fun to vary the look.

Seriously, I think most know I'm not big on the so-called modern kilts... but paint balling in a kilt... is cool. I think it's the whole kilt worn during battle thing. It's just great. I think though that if you went paintballing in a 8 yard wool tartan kilt you'd have more incentive to not be shot.
