    I really like a lot of penannular brooches, but have never really thought of using one as a kilt pin. Most of them have really thick pins and I'm concerned about sticking that through the material.


    However, as a fly plaid brooch, different story.

    I was forgetting, this goes with my Irish National---from the gift shop at Antietam. Piobbear has a much nicer reproduction on his caubeen.

    A point to keep in mind...
    If you are going to be leaving an actual brass pin on a kilt for any length of time, make sure it has a good clear coating on it. If not, it WILL leave staining.
