Welcome to my world when I was a park ranger.

One of our LE rangers used to point this out to some of the more irate tourists he would meet -- the conversation would usually begin -- "I'm a taxpayer & I pay your salary!" He would reply, "So am I -- and I never get ahead, because my taxes pay my salary!"

It's funny how some people feel negative about getting some of THEIR OWN MONEY back from Uncle Sam! You can spend it wiser than the "guvmint" can.

With my last two #'s being 95, I'll be waiting awhile yet, but am looking to "stimulate" some local car dealer...!

Now that I'm a lawyer, I wish I had pursued being a Ranger full time. It was my summer job for a few years in college, but I gave it up for law school.

Of course, the government still both collects my taxes and pays my salary, so I'm in the hole.

When i first got out of the Army i worked for the CDF (California Dept. of Forestry and the OES) as a Paramedic. In Yosemite! Besides having the advantage of the Feds equip and assets ( Yosemite is a Federal Park) I got to work in the most beautiful, awe inspiring piece of this earth. Then california went bankrupt and laid off all their county paramedics.
It was the best job i ever had, and after 8 years in the army it did more to heal me from 2 wars and being screwed up then anything could of. I wish i still had that job. Sigh. Would have been a wholey different life i have no doubt.
