PV is only available in lighter weight 10 Oz. Better kilt making material is 13-16 oz weight.
PV is flammable, wool is not.
Small correction... PV is available in 8 or 9 oz from some sources in Canada (but they only ship to Canada), 10 - 11 oz from Batleys and 11 to 12 oz from MM.
I'm not saying PV can ever REPLACE wool as the best kilting fabric, but it has it's advantages... it's machine washable AND it is less expensive (and people with wool allergies can wear it).
I PERSONALLY like wool better, but I can afford it (and I make my own kilts). For those on a budget, PV is a good alternative.
