Actually in our house a "Panache" is tonic water with lemon juice served with plenty of ice.

I will have to give this a try in the (unlikely) event some light lager style beer ever makes it into our fridge.

I imagine it would be very refreshing in the heat of summer (but not so wonderful as a gin and tonic! )

    Cheers

The closest thing that I can think of to that concoction that has proven palatable is the Leinenkugle Berry Weiss beer. I first encountered that particular brew at a nice minor league ball park in one of our suburbs where Leinie is one of the sponsors and is served cold and in large cups for a reasonable price (remember that a beer at US Cellular Field, home of the White Sox, is now $6.25). Anyway, the Berry Weiss and it's Lemon Weiss brother are great for a hot summer day. When i first tasted it I immediately said "Shandy!" and all of the folks around me had no idea what I was talking about.

Apparently, this Panache thing requires that genuine French bottle lemonade.

Are you sure you're not omitting an ingredient, Jamie, 'cause I think you are.

But that wouldn't be a Panache then, that would be something far more wonderful!

Speaking of which, I think I shall go fix one now.
