Congrats on the kilting and good photos. The BSoA have a tartan, don't they?

Not that I'm aware of. There are two "Scottish Scout" tartans. One (ITI #1294) is like the Black Watch, except that it is entirely in black and shades of gray. The other (ITI #1463) is similar to the MacLaren clan tartan, but much more green. I had the impression that the latter was part of the Scottish Boy Scout uniform, but from pictures I have been able to find online, it appears the Scottish Scouts wear kilts in clan tartans (or trousers). I don't suppose it makes sense for the organization to bear the cost of outfitting all the boys in kilts. The MacLaren clan tartan is also associated with the Boy Scouts due the early involvement of a MacLaren (or two) in the Scouting movement. In the BSA it is worn on the neckerchief presented to those who have completed Wood Badge training. Because of this connection, the Clan MacLaren Society of North America offers non-voting membership in their organization to anyone who has completed their Wood Badge training.
