I think that this is key to having the kilt accepted!!! At least it has been the case in my experience.
I know that I pay much more attention to how I look now that I am kilted full time. I try to match leathers: Browns together or blacks together. I pay attention to shirt colors, hose colors and the flashes too.
All-in-all, I seem to be dressing much better kilted than I ever did in my jeans and t-shirt period (which after all lasted for many years!)
