I'm a mix of Irish and Scottish, mostly Irish though. My Irish side is Dempsey of County Offaly, and Simpson of County Armagh, also Wiggins from Ireland (Don't know where in Ireland though) and I have James from scotland, also aparrently some Cherokee Indian and a pinch of Dutch in there, so yeah, my blood is mostly Celtic, with a pinch of Cherokee and Dutch.

There is absolutely nothing fitting that description in this thread. The word "racist" is a rather strong one, and shouldn't be tossed around so carelessly.

That's certainly a possibility and one which I didn't rule out. However, I stick to my original statement that the word is not one to be tossed around carelessly.

Many clans and families have some degree of Norman blood in them. That goes for several other ethnic backgrounds as well; Norse, Anglo, Saxon, etc.. This is obviously to some limiting degree, which would explain the more predominant Celtic bloodline. Some historians have described Scotland as a melting pot, kind of like NY city. Most of these other cultures contributed in some way to what became the Scottish Identity.

From my perspective, it's just another one of those ever prevalent reasons to be proud of your ancestry.
