I would either call, email or PM Jerry at Stillwater. He's incredibly helpful

And very responsive. Every time I've ever e-mailed him, I've gotten a response either within about an hour or so (during business hours) or by about 8:00 the next morning (weekends included).
I agree with McFarkus that you should call, but I'd be willing to bet that, with the Thriftikilts being Velcroed up top, you should have a lot of room to maneuver. Note also that I have a couple of Amerikilts that are about 2 inches too big for me, but I just cinch them up in my belt and go with it. There's a limit to how much you can cheat with a belt, but you can pretty easily take up an extra inch or two if you do get something too big in the waist.
Personally, I'd rather go with a chance of too big in the waist rather than too small in length. If you're as tall as it sounds like you are, you may not have enough length in the youth-sized kilt, and we DON'T want this looking like a mini-kilt.
Regardless of the blathering, just get your waist and length measurements (there are instructions on SWK's website on how to take them), and get in touch with Jerry. He'll take care of you.
Good luck and welcome to the club! One last piece of advice: just go ahead and order 3 now. You'll save yourself time getting 'em piecemeal like I did.
