True, but then if you buy the fabric and fringe it, it will cost somewhat less. I did, and not only fringed it, but purled and knotted it too. Very time consuming, but then I was going through the therapy following cancer surgery and felt absolutely lousy. Gave me something to do to keep from going stark staring bonkers! As an interesting aside, my wife wears it as a shawl on dressy occasions, I only wear it at full formal ones, so it does get get used quite a bit.
