Tartan Shirts

IMO, i think tartan shirts look dreadful. A shirt should be fitting with a kilt or even pants, but matching?! bit much isn't it.

OTH tartan shirts are a way of showing the tartan when a kilt cannot be worn. That is why I had two made from a wash wool some 20 or so years back. I still have them, but would NEVER wear them with a tartan kilt, matching or not.

There was a time when the best Highland wear was as much plaid as possible, sometimes not matching at all.

I think they pulled it off back then, but I'm not sure about today. Maybe it's the type of shirt, I never got into the button down collared shirts.
