We use the "Danny Boy and Broadsword" call signs when we are using radios on the hill.

What a wonderful piece of trivia! Thanks for that Jock Scot!

WED is one of "those" movies for me. The movies that stop me in my tracks - everything goes on hold until the credits roll.

    Classic favorite!
I remember watching that (and other great flix) on the CBS Sunday/Tuesday/Thursday night movies. (wow... does that date me!)
Picked up the DVD cheap at Wally World.

Now if I could just find "Operation Crossbow", on DVD.

I saw this movie for the first time when i was with the 101st Airborne at Fort Campbell back in 66.
Had just came from jump school at Benning.

Does that tell my age or what?

I love the movie which I originally saw at the cinema and I now have on DVD and watch a few times a year.

Yes the plot has holes and its amazing how the heroes are so bulletproof but it's all good fun!

The book, btw, is a lot less violent than the movie. Lt. Schaffer is not the human killing machine as portrayed in the movie.
