Glad you had a lovely time out, except for the idiot in the bathroom and the rude kilt checker.
I must admit, while it *may* happen, it's still not acceptable. Someone tries to kilt check my husband, it'll be interesting to see who steps in first -- me or him. There's no excuse... someone should ask permission first. I certainly wouldn't want someone trying to see what's under my skirt, and I think men deserve the same respect. If they're game, fine, if not... hands off, and find out first.
And if that person is my husband? Well, let's just say I'm thankful my husband has no interest in that sort of behavior (unless it's from me).
Seriously though, glad you and your wife were able to have a nice evening out together!

I think for the sake of everybody involved, I'd stop it before you, Cynthia
Were I to lift or slide my hand beneath a woman's skirt, I'd most likely be going for a ride in a police car. Women and men have a right to not have people assume they can infringe on personal space like that. Even if I were single, I wouldn't be a fan of somebody trying that.
For so many people, the kilt represents history and family honor, and doing half-drunken kilt checks against the wearer's permission is a slap in the face of what the kilt represents!
For others, it is a garment that's a bit racy, and that's fine...if that's what the person is into (to each their own).
But a person has a right to wear the kilt without being groped.
As far as the guy in the bathroom breaking the three word rule: it's odd that somebody in a pub wouldn't recognize the importance of the kilt on that culture (whether and Irish or Scottish pub). Of course, not everybody going to a pub is into the culture, but the guy should have known better.
If the three word rule of the bathroon was broken, you could have turned to face him in conversation--I bet he would have left quickly for a variety of reasons!

I can deal with that rule violation if I have to, but those who break the *AUR should be dealt with harshly!!
