Hello P1M, I have been giving Arisaig and you holiday a bit of thought. The one thing you really do need to keep in mind is that the days(daylight) are very short. It will get light(ish) at about 0800 and dark(ish) at about 1530. Not too much time for sight seeing! I know you will have your trusty camera, but a good pair of binoculars will be an asset. You should be able to see otters, seals, deer, sea eagles, golden eagles, pine martins without too much bother. Bring a whole heap of CD's, your favorite bottle of scotch(or six) and a good book for the long evenings. Petrol is not too difficult to get, but I still try to remember where I saw the last garage and still make a point of filling up as soon as the gauge says half. If you are going to Ardnamurchan Point go with a FULL tank!

I never tire of the colours of the hills at that time of year and I have every confidance that you will have a quiet relaxing time with lots to see and little to do!Unless you like golf, stalk deer or like climbing the hills around and about.Be warned though, those hills are not for the ill-equiped at that time of year! As to Fort William, apart from a good super market(Morrisons),fuel and a very good museum the rest,I am afraid, of it will disappoint!

Have a great trip.
