Looking for a great Sgian Dubh
Hi all I am getting married in two weeks, and am looking for a great Sgian Dubh. Anyone have any suggestions were I can find one? I would love to have somebody make one for me or learn how to myself, but there's not much time for that right now I guess.
Thanks
Erik...

You could check out the following links
http://www.rainnea.com/
http://www.knifemaker.co.uk/
http://www.scottishsgiandubhs.co.uk/
You could get in touch with Howard Clark he is a member on the site and his work is heirloom quality. Of course two weeks is not a lot of time so even getting something shipped from the UK may be out of the question, perhaps you should find a local tartan shop and get the best you can from them, another thought would be to get in touch with Matt Newsome at the Scottish Tartan Museum and see what he can do for you on such short notice.

Call Rocky at USA Kilts, or Steve at Freedom Kilts, they can both help you out with a quality sgian in time. (see the sponsor's link at the top of this page)

That link doesn't work for users.
I would try USA Kilts. Their officer's sgian is really neat.

I've edited my post, it's early yet and I've not had any form of caffeine

Rab Gordon (www.rainnea.com) has a few available right now.
As an owner of a Rab Gordon sgian dubh, I can attest to the superb quality and amazing craftsmanship of his finished pieces.
But if you want one in two weeks, you best buy it today with a request for immediate shipment!

Forget custom. Rab Gordon has one heck of a backlog (at least 6 months). I wrote them on 30 April 08 to inquire about one and just had a reply last week (almost 4 months later). I am now on the waiting list and assigned SG586. I won't guess how long it will take to finally get this knife.
You might get one of Rab's off the shelf in two weeks, but I wouldn't chance it.
The real sgian dubh company only has the buffalo horn damascus knives available. They are also in Scotland which might take a while for it to get to the States. That means it might not make the two week deadline.
There are some really good ready mades out there that will do the trick from the sponsors.

OK, I ordered one of the Real Sgian Dubh Company's product on 28 Aug 2008: A buffalo horn damascus. It was shipped on 30 August 2008 and arrived today 9 Sep 2008. This is the RSDC's pic of what I bought as I am too lazy to upload a photo.

The knife is super and arrived within the two week deadline.
Kudos to Alastair for a very nice knife.
SG586 is still only a glint in my eye!
Thank you Tommy!
