Hang in there. Gen Ed is designed to make up the slack, or so I have been told. I have other ideas. It is a form of "feather bedding" for academics and empire builders. (I spent 40+ years in such an institution then went over the wall) Consider it "dues paying" and also giving you some background that you might find useful someday, one never knows! I found that out over the past half century or so.
