I don't think it would look good, but it might also go with one of those Saltire sporrans (which I don't care for in the first place).

I've seen it done with a doublet, horsehair sporran, boots, and spat.

Darling, don't you know that you just can't wear white after Labor Day?!

I agree with most of the posts here; I wouldn't wear it. The last time I did was with a white sporran, sporran belt and spats, and that was part of a military uniform. I can't picture it as part of any other outfit.

Thanks fellas, I was more or less just curious if anybody would wear them. I know that the 48th Highlanders of Toronto used to wear a white sporran belt with a black horsehair sporran with white bells, they seem to only be worn with the spats as well. I have pictures of my great grandfather wearing that sporran which i will try to find and post up here. But thanks again for the feedback.

Just to be different : yes, I do wear a white belt, as it happens.
I have a very light-coloured kilt, Glen Mor tartan, for summer wear, and when I came across a an off-white leather belt in the market, it seemed the obvious thing to complement the kilt.
There is nothing special about it, but I think it looks much better than a black or brown one would with this tartan. I don't bother with a sporran, though if I found one that matched, I might be tempted.

Hold it right there for a minute Jamie, while I access photobucket.
OK, got it. I made this for a friend of Hamish.

It ought to fill the bill, wouldn't you say. I mean, it's white and all...

I'm going to have to go against the grain here and I think a white belt could look nice if done properly.
Being a part of the SCA, I have seen a lot of very nice looking white belts. They are given to squires once they obtain the rank of knight. I personally wouldn't wear one, but I think if you had the right belt, that it could be pulled off.
I'm looking for a belt right now, but until I find a white one I'll use this image.
I think if this belt were white and you had the right color kilt, that it would look good. Just my opinion. I think you'd have to tread carefully though, because it could very easily not look good.

My opinion would be to try it out and look in the mirror and see how it looks.

Here's another picture of belts that my buddy makes. Neither of them is in white, but I'm sure you can get the idea. I think though with some decorative celtic brass work around the belt, a white belt could look cool.
