Animal Rescue Tartans?
My wife is looking for a tartan that would somehow represent animal rescue or her love of animals, or dogs, something like that. Anyone know of one? Thanks!

The capercaillie tartan may be what she is looking for.
Regards,
Rex.
At any moment you must be prepared to give up who you are today for who you could become tomorrow.

Not the band!
Good post Rex. I had seen the tartan before and wrongly believed it was named for the the musical group, Capercaillie.

Well, I suppose if all else fails, you can use the tartan for Labrador *giggle*
I actually had a couple dog beds out of it (from Orvis) but they were long since disemboweled by of all things, a pack of Labradors.

Well...I just started my third season of rescuing migratory birds that run into Chicago's gleaming skyscrapers during the night and early morning. That means being downtown and on foot at five in the AM armed with a net and paper bags to capture and transport the little guys over to our hospital facility a Northerly Island (which is the site of the former Meigs Airport that our esteemed Mayor had bulldozed in the middle of the night).
I've worn the kilt to organizational activities for the group but wearing one out on "patrol" would be pretty impractical. So that's the only tartan that shows up in this animal rescue activity.

...that's me in the red jacket in the photos...figure that high visibility is a plus especially around the Federal Center where anybody who hangs around for long is considered a security risk.
I'm starting to take the courses on actual medical treatment and rehabilitation procedures...some hobby, eh?
I urge anybody else out there who lives in an urban area to look into doing this...it's a small thing but it's rewarding. As I once told the director, "..I figure that any day that I can cheat death out of even one little life is a good day."
Best
