Well I have two casual tartan kilts due to be made for Christmas; one for a new member here and one for my cousin. I HAD to open my big mouth!
I need to finish my Lindsay casual (currently under construction) and I'm going to do my Gray Stewart 6-yard pleated to sett for practice. I've only pleated to sett twice, and that was a year ago so I need another practice run through hand-sewing to sett. But after that....
The MacNaughton Tank, pleated to sett. Hopefully I'll have it by Christmas, we'll see.
......and then the X-Marks PV kilt in time for next years Games Season and then I'M DONE WITH KILTMAKING.
no, really....done. DONE, I say. I've lost count of how many kilts I've made, upwards of twenty I think.
1 "saffron" carhardt knife-pleat
1 traditional MacNicol wool 7 yard
4 X-Kilt prototypes
1 X kilt for me
1 X kilt for Panache
1 grey wool/poly blend 6 yard
1 6 yard knife-pleat in X Marks tartan
1 box pleat X Marks tartan for Tim C
1 box pleat California tartan
2 camouflage 5 yard knife pleats for guys at work
1 black "womens kilt" for "echoe" in WA
4 X-skirt prototypes
1 black reverse kinguisse in bull denim
1 8 yard Dutch MacKay knife pleat for Piper George
total: 21 kilts or skirts....and I'm probably forgetting a couple. When I'm done, I'll have made twenty-six kilts or pleated skirts and I think that's *enough* for an out-of-control hobby!
BTW, count them up....that will be twenty-six kilts or skirts in about two and a half years. I'm almost at an average of a kilt-a-month. This is NUTS.
