Riiiiiiiight.. . I support my habits through writing (self-employed in the automotive industry). I forget who said that "writing isn't difficult. . .you just put a blank piece of paper into the typewriter and stare at it until beads of blood form on your forehead" or words to that effect. Well, kiltmaking leads to beads of blood on your fingertips other than that, not too much difference!

OK, had to look up the "beads of blood" business and it's attributed to some sports writer, pah. But Winnie the Churchill may have had it better:

"Writing a book [substitute: making a kilt] is an adventure. To begin with, it is a toy and an amusement; then it becomes a mistress, and then it becomes a master, and then a tyrant. How high have you set the bar? I'm am SERIOUSLY impressed... and thats with a lighter weight fabric too.... top job!

(My wife just smiles at me and shakes her head - I think she knows I've got a MOUNTAIN to climb before my pile of fabric looks half as good as this kilt!!!!)
