Jerry can't add obscure tartans and still offer what he does at the price he does. We should really be looking for something universal.
It does seem from the responses that Isle of Skye would be very popular. There would be royalties involved, but they are paying a royalty for Irish National, so it may be workable. Failing that, the Gold brothers sell a knockoff called Bright Skye, so that's always an option, I suppose.
That said, I probably wouldn't buy either myself. That's really just because I am looking for something that I am associated with, and I've never even been to the Isle of Skye!
I already own an SWK Thrifty in Irish National, and I'm very pleased with it.
I have since realised, though, that kilts in solid green or solid saffron are more authentically Irish. AFAIK the cheapest solid green is by Frugal Corner, and costs more than an SWK Economy but less than a Standard.OTOH, the nearest thing to a solid saffron at a budget price is SWK's own shadow tartan in saffron, but it is only available in wool, This makes it exactly twice the price of the FC solid green, as a matter of fact. Mind you, there's no picture of the FC solid green (or greeen with 3 e's as they list it!) and when I asked just what shade of green it was they didn't reply to my e-mail. SWK has much better customer service than that.
There ought to be some scope there to add either a solid or a shadow tartan in either green or saffron in one of SWK's cheaper lines, i.e. Thrifty or Economy. I would buy one.
To all those who have asked for longer kilts, kindly remember that not everyone is as tall as you. For me, 24 inches is pushing towards the "kilt don't" area for being too long. I'm 5'8", but I have the body of a 6 footer attached to the legs of someone of 5'4" to average out at that! The standard length of 24" is chosen for a good reason, as a good compromise. Any longer and it's a definite "no sale" for me.
