If you're in Aberdeen, I'd recommend you have a look at Alex Scott at the corner of Schoolhill and Back Wynd. The kilt department is on the top floor of the building, and the kilts are made on the premises by a skilled kiltmaker named Margot Brodie - well worth a visit and an excellent quality product. My own first kilt was from them.

I know the Alex Scott shop well and have rented from them a few times in the past. They would have been my first choice...... if I had a choice, but as it was a pre-bought gift then I don't. The voucher I got is for "Gibbs Sirs" of Inverurie, I've been out there for a look and it looks good to me so everything should be fine.
