I have a few cents to add to this conversation as well. I respect my kilt. All those that I know respect their kilts for what they are; a piece of our heritage or at least a garment that we love to wear if it's not part of our heritage.

I personally would not like to see kilts sold at places like wal-mart because right now because when I wear a kilt there is a level of respect, and trust that comes with it from the populace. Someone sees a man in a kilt and for whatever reason they believe they are more approachable and trustworthy. I like that. I don't want just a bunch of random people wearing the kilt that may end up giving kilt wearers a bad name.

Would kilts become more socially acceptable if they were sold at wal-mart? Maybe, probably so. However there is something called Kilt Etiquette, and applys to a lot of different actions, one of them includes not doing cartwheels in your kilt in a public place. (you get my point), if you had a bunch of random Joe's wearing kilts, both Scotsmen's mystery, and our good reputation would be ruined.

I know I'm thinking on the extremist side of this arguement, but I hold a lot of pride in myself and my brethren. I'd hate for all that to go away because of a bunch of nut-jobs got a crazy idea to buy kilts at wal-mart and run around town being idiots.

I vote no to Kilts at wal-mart. Thank you drive thru...
