    I just purchased a copy of Veronica Gainford's _Designs for Knitting Kilt Hose & KNickerbocker Stockings_ in order to get that same pattern. It's a must have book for many kilt hose knitters.

    thanks, my wonderful sister is going to try her hand at a pair of checked hose, and I have been trying to find a pattern for her.

    Be sure to read the Amazon reviews on this book. . . while anyone who would tackle diced hose is probably not a novice, the reviews make it clear that this book is for very advanced knitters (not a straight pattern book, no indication of yarn quantity, few pictures, etc.).

    There's another thread on this topic that may have some info useful to you here. IIRC there is discussion of various pattern sources buried within the thread.

    That pic you posted is fabulous! I want the little pouch in the background (too small to be a sporran?).

    I found that picture on the internt somewhere. The pouch is nice, but a bit small for a sporran. thanks forthe tag.
