Hello Sionnachdubh and everyone,
My pal Mike McRae does indeed make Broadswords and Backswords and the ocassional Lochaber axe as well as Dirks and Sgians I believe he has a couple on his site as I write this www.scotiametalwork.com . My Armoury is a fantastic site, I'm a member there as well. I'm very familiar with Armour Class also. They are wonderful craftsman and you are quite right. If you see a historical piece they will do the utmost to research it further and make one that you can't tell which is the replica, absolutely brilliant. Be prepared though, to get the best one must pay a premium. Please do keep me informed about these Cameron lads. I would love to obtain a piece from them, especially if you say they are first rate. I'm quite amazed, I represent my glorius Clan for the New England Region and I have not heard of these Camerons. I will most certainly spread the word. Thanks again.
Yours Aye,
Sean
P.S.
You are right again. The average price for a well made Dirk ranges anywhere from $350.- U.S. on up.
