uh, not where I went. It was the building that tried to take your money that the building next to it didn't take. They removed the bowling alley to add a programs thing that raised tuition, then they built a new one, removing some of the minimal parking the school had, to build a new one. Bah.

uh, I was trying to define what a CU/SU was, not make commentary one way the other.

At Arizona State University it was called the "MU," but I forget exactly what the "M" stood for... Multi or something like that I guess.
That was long before my kilt wearing started. Sometimes I wonder what it would have been like if I wore a kilt on campus back then. It seems that I do remember a piper playing in the area between the MU and the library by a fountain area once or twice, but I don't know if he or she wore a kilt... It's been ten or twelve years.
* Now that I think of it, I do seem to remember a pipe band going around campus ever so often, but like I said, it's been a good while... *
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…

I belong to a private club here in Frederick and most members have never seen me not in a kilt. But some days I stop in after having done something in pants and don't change. Twice now I've almost not been allowed inside because I wasn't recognised.

What is so cool is that they MISSED you.

Men will always be noticed when they're not wearing trousers. For most of those moments, I recommend a kilt.

Our SU was rich, because the original principal had talked them into buying land to expand the college. It was criticised as unethical, but in fact he did them a huge favour. Not only did they own their own SU building and the land underneath it, but the college had to pay them ground rent for land that some college buildings were on. Paying rent to the college for the SU building is not good because they can always lose the lease if the college wants the building and/or the land, but it is the norm everywhere else.

Apologies if my attempts to explain what a SU/CU was for steering this thread off-topic...let's get back on the subject of kilts on college campuses please...

I'm the latter. "Hey! There's that guy with the kilt!"
