I agree with both Panache and Jock. You're both right.
A hat that offers shade is quite a necessity at times, but in the colder weather, nothing beats the old balmoral. I do wear a few other hats occassionally, but for everyday wear it's either a balmoral (or an ex-military tam) or a bucket hat style (similar to Jamie's--the boy has breat taste), or my trusty brown fedora (a la Indiana Jones). The brimmed hats are for rain.
With a kilte, I rarely wear anything other than a balmoral unless it's a parade or something and I opt for a glangarry.
BTW, Panache, that hatter's site had no hats on it.
