Fantastic photos Gunnar! I've yet to visit Iceland, but it's top of the list on my roots route!

Hope you're surviving the economic crisis. From the news we're getting here in the US it seems like the Icelanders are having a very rough go at present.

well the financial crisis don't really reach to my, as I'm only a teenager, but people are losing alot of money, and some they'r entire savings. The unemployment rates were about 2% in the beginning of the year but now they are something like 10% and are constantly rising. But the governement have been given loans from IMF and alot from helpfull countries so I hope that things will get better. If they don't we'll probobly join the EU to get a new currency, the Euro.

Great Pics!! I love the contrast in areas. Some are grassy and others rocky. The house with the two waterfalls behind looks like a grande place. One of these days, I'd love to visit. Good job!!

Yes of course! I totally forgot that!

Pic.1: I mountain at the roots of the volcano Hekla, witch is on the south side of Iceland, as you can see there's alot of lava on the right side of the photo.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hekla

Pic.2: And another one near Hekla, and alot of lava there.

Pic.3:A small church that was there near by.

We often drive through a fjord close to Reykjavík called Hvalfjörður and here are some pics I took there and in the fjords close by.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hvalfj%C3%B6r%C3%B0ur

Pic.4:A ruined house in Hvalfjörður, a fjord in the south-west country just north of the Reykjavik area.

Pic.5:A wiew from a fjord close to Hvalfjörður

    Pic.6:A small island in Hvalfjörður

Pic.7:A wiew of a part of Hvalfjörður

Pic.8:A smallar fjord there close by.

    Pic.9:Waterfalls in that fjord.

Pic.10:And the wiew looking out-of that fjord.

Pic.11: My grandparents live in Skagafjörður, wich is in the northern part of the country, so I often visit them and take alot of pics there. And this one is of a mountain there called Tindastóll.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skagafj%C3%B6r%C3%B0ur

Pic.12:A late-summertime wiew of the mountain, with the sun sitting behind it.

Pic.13:A valley somewhere near Borgarfjörður witch is quite close to Hvalfjörður.

Pic.14:Looking to the other direction of that valley and through to Borgarfjörður.

Pic.15:And some houses in Borgarnes wich is the town in Borgarfjörður

    Pic.16:A mountain near Hvalfjörður.

    Pic.18:A small port in Hvalfjörður.

Pic.19:And looking at the isles in Hvalfjörður.

Pic.20:A wiew of Mývatn wich is on the north-eastern part of the country.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M%C3%BDvatn

Pic.21:A waterfall in a river in Langanes witch is a small peninsula in the most north-eastern part of the country.

    Pic.22:A wiew there as well.

Pic.23:And a wiew of the town Akureyri witch is the most populus town in the northern country.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Akureyri

    Pic.24:Goðafoss.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Go%C3%B0afoss

Pic.25:A wiew across the bay of Skjálfandi.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skj%C3%A1lfandi

    Pic.26:The cliffs near there.

    Pic.26:And the mountains there.

    Pic.27:The same mountains again.

Pic.28:A ruined house near Ásbyrgi. The tree is actually growing into the roof.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C3%81sbyrgi

Pic.29The enormous walls of the Ásbyrgi canyon.

Pic.30The same. To to get an idea of how big it is you can see some people standing on a wooden platform near the lake and see how small they are compared to the walls.

Pic.31:My father walking the trail there.

Pic.32:The rock ''island'' in the middle of the canyon.

    Pic.33:And a sunset with Tindastóll

    Pic.34:Mountains near Borgarfjörður.

Pic.35:A mounain in Tröllaskagi wich lies between Skagafjörður and Eyjafjörður. Akureyri is in Eyjafjörður.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tr%C3%B6llaskagi

    Pic.36:More montains in Tröllaskagi.

Pic.37:A wiew of the Reykjavik area.

Pic.38:Some mountains. I'm not sure where. Somewhere in the northern part.

    Pic.39:The Same

    Pic.40:My grandparents house in Skagafjörður.

    Pic.41:Mountains in Skagafjörður.

    Pic.42:The same
