I keep any addiction (mostly) in check by a) limiting myself to family tartans and b) making most of my kilts myself. That second one really cuts things down, but now I look for fabric to make kilts out of.

That wouldn't help me. As the family genealogist, I've traced direct ties to more than 75 clans. And as each clan usually has more than one tartan, plus district tartans for the clans, it gets ridiculous pretty quickly.

Do not fight. Do not object. Surrender. Surrender to the kilt!
Besides, it only becomes a problem if you find yourself singing "Brigadoon" on old, historic bridges and when grocery shopping....

The only way to get the song out of your head is to sing it loud and proud. (possibly in McLeod??)

That's where b) comes into effect - once you have the materials, you have to make the kilts yourself!
