When I was in the Army we wore our dress hats with the X-uniform, which was very much like the PC. I was wondering if there was a civilian equal or equivalent.
Damn there goes my collection of aluminum foil pirates hats!
Brooster, when in Rome.... I have no idea what would be customary in New Mexico, but today no hat of any sort is worn with a PC in Scotland -- inside, outside or in my lady's chamber.

Quite right for Scotland. Now, if, if I were in the type of weather that is had in, say, North American winters, I think I would wear a balmoral out of doors.
