I'm at a point in altering my SWK where I am considering adding some kind of interfacing to the aprons. I might remove that strap and buckle in the process.
My only other thought is to set that strap up so that it can be interchangeable (black/brown) and attached with an elastic loop to minimalize any pull on the apron. Maybe even a false strap that is not attached to the apron, but the under apron instead, would work.
(It's a contemporary kilt after all.) Still thinking about how that might be done, though.
