Thanks, Barb. Got a PM from ThistleDown about splitting an 8 meter piece that he is sending directly to you for you to work you magic, and I am going to split that pice with him and hope you can work the same magic for me. We have talked before re: pricing so I think we are good there unless things have changed in the last couple months. I have sent with him my contact info to forward on. Get in touch with me when you need a deposit on the labor charges and we can talk specific measurements then.

By the way, I did get that special weave 16oz Allen 1996 tartan from Dalgliesh via HOS over the holidays. Due to financial constraints and other opportunities like this one I have decided to hold onto that fabric for now and get the other stuff that is in the pipeline finished up before having the Allen made up for me. Do you do a Kingussie style knife pleat kilt? I like the look of hte one I saw on xmts a while back and it seem like a unique look that might be worth looking into. Thanks again.

Hope you find somebody else to split some tartan with. would hate to see a tartan junkie denied a great fix like this deal.

Sounds great! Absolutely to both questions, and I've sent you a PM.

On the last point, I have to get my fix mainly from having tartan in my possession to enjoy while I'm making a kilt. So, I'll be OK!!

As I described in detail on my PM I think I got aced out on this deal, as thistledown only got 8mtr of single width instead of double width, so none to share with me. Now it is all gone. Bummer. Another time perhaps.

Will be instead sending you the Allen for a nice kingussie masterpiece probably very soon. Checking the current post xmas financing with my business manager---uhhh, wife--- first.

    Thanks again.

Actually, Jeff, what I said in my pm was that it LOOKED like Gordon had shipped 8m of single-width, that I would be contacting him and would get back to you as soon as he and I had talked. We have now done so and he is dropping by this afternoon with the full 8m of double-width. If you are still interested, let me know.

Yahoo!! Thanks for the happy update Thistledown. I most certainly will accept the other half of your eight meters, and just go ahead and sent it on to Barb. We have already been in touch about it as you can see from her congratulatoory post above.

Happy happy Joy Joy!! I didn't miss the boat after all, thanks to the generosity of Thistledown and the solid business practices of Gordon at B&S.

Now I get to join the Barb T jonesing club, followed sometime thereafter by the Barb T kilt owner's club. But now the Allen Kingussie by Barb T will have to wait a couple more months to join her que.
