A walk on the wild side

I went to the Faerieworlds Winter Masquerade Ball last Saturday night in Eugene Oregon.
Great music by Tricky Pixie, Trillion Green and Kan' Nal.
Saturday was bad faerie night, so I did my evil best to make something fun to wear.

A good friend of mine, Heather, went as well and we had matching outfits.

I didn't get any pictures of us together. Here is one of me at the ball that a friend took.

And here is Heather with her daughter.

    And here is the kilt.

Living up to it's name, it was a nightmare to make.
The red is a crushed red penne (fake velvet).
It is stretchy and was terrible to work with.
The front apron material is very thick and tricky to get pressed and hemmed.

It was a hit at the ball.
I got a lot of compliments and Heather and I had to stop and pose for a lot of pictures that night..

Take a walk on the wild side, Babe.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…

Very cool man! Where did you get the horns? I had a great pair that I used when I wasn't shaving my head, but now you can see the nylon strings used to hold them in place.

Notice you don't see any thread?

Even if it was a good quality picture.

I used a good spirit gum and glued them onto my noggin.
Got a LOT of double takes as people realized there was no string.
Even had one guy ask if I had implants and had them screwed on.

I got those horns at Faerieworlds last summer.

Plan on making my own that are fitted to my head so they can be glued on and will be lighter.
These ones stayed on most of the night, but eventually fell off.
