I think the board really could use a decent kilt "dos and don'ts" thread... The one we have is just getting silly.
We have many newbies to kilts and kilting (like I am in many respects) who would like to get educated in regards to what looks good and what doesn't. The current thread is a behemoth at a whopping 224 pages! I've tried to look through bits and pieces of that thread, but it just isn't useful anymore! There are pages on pages of inane commentary and just all around useless posts mixed in with some humerous photos. In addition, having dos and don'ts mixed together gets a little confusing.
Could I suggest some sort of distillation process by which people (or mods) would choose the best exemplars of dos and don'ts from the current (and maybe a few other) threads and place them into two new threads. (Maybe the new ones would need to be pre-locked... I don't know)... But we really don't need 200 photos of people wearing their kilts too long and then another 200 photos of people who wear their pleats in the front, for instance... It's a fun thread, yes. Useful? Uh uh. Not unless you're willing to wade through 224 pages. I'm sure not...
AGREED! I just added another post to this excessively long thread!

No, no... That's all good too! I'm not suggesting we shut down the thread that Pour1Malt started -- it's a fine socialization thread and people SHOULD feel free to keep making it longer.... but just have something in addition to that, so when a newbie asks about a kilt do or don't, we don't just push him off into the deep end, to start wading through that maze...
P.S. (off-topic): I think the Cardinals were the victims of some really "creative" officiating yesterday... I'm not a Cards fan or anything, but I WAS cheering for them in the big game.
