To me a LAIRD'S Plaid is a "car robe or Stadium blanket" used KILTED UP.

Not to mention, historically, the great kilt had the plaid. The only difference was that it was attached. It was used for all the above listed, as well as a sleeping bag. Plaid on, my friend. You're looking good.
