Kilts and Bow ties

Steady Jock! Rise above the flat hat jibes and stick to the subject! Day time bow ties are not seen over here with the kilt, well, at least I have not seen them. Why they are not worn, much(if at all) I know not. I think that they ought to work well with a tweed argyll and waistcoat and I will see if I can dig out a bow tie and try it. Without a doubt though, a flat hat and/or white hose would not be worn as well, as that really would be poor form! Sorry, sorry, OK I fell foul of temptation, I really could not resist having a go!

Getting back to bow ties....

It would be interesting to see if they are English in origin and if so, what would be the traditional Scottish neck wear?
