    Riding boots?

I was trolling the board this morning and saw an old thread from a while back on boot choice with the kilt. In it, someone suggested riding boots...the ones that come up just shy of the knee. Some came out for, and some against, but I couldn't find any pictures of it being done.

It's piqued my curiosity and I'm wondering if anyone has a picture of riding boots worn with with a kilt. I've got an idea in my head of what it might look like, but the picture in my head has been known to vary greatly from reality.

    Any one done it?

As someone who owns a pair of riding boots I can't for the life of me think that they would work with a kilt.

    Cheers

    Spot on, Jamie & Jock.

I have seen, however, a picture of a Canadian army officer in the First World War wearing riding breeches in the Government Sett & riding boots!

    Regards,

    Todd

Pretty much what I had floating around in the ol' noggin.

I think they look cool as all get out with breeks and was wondering if the "coolness" migrated over to kilts.

Here's another example of tartan riding breeches:

Riding boots, I wouldn't think so. But occasionally I see lace-up-to-the-knee boots with contemporary kilts that I think looks pretty hot, provided it's in the right setting.

    Regards,
    Rex.

It seems like an illogical pairing of clothing items. A man wouldn't wear a kilt to ride a horse, so you wouldn't wear the kilts and boots together.

Aside from the fact that riding boots aren't made for walking and would be terribly uncomfortable, you'd look like a real Wally wearing them with the kilt.
